Laser Engraving Service

Laser engraving is a technique that uses a laser beam to cut into a material and create a permanent mark:

  • How it works

A laser beam removes material from the surface of an object by vaporizing it into fumes. The laser acts like a chisel, incising the material with high levels of energy.

  • What it's used for

Laser engraving is used in many industries, including manufacturing, automotive, and medical. It's also used for artistic applications.

  • What it creates

Laser engraving can create durable, high-contrast marks that are human or machine readable. These marks can include barcodes, QR codes, logos, and serial numbers.

  • What materials it works on

Laser engraving can be used on a variety of materials, including wood, metal, plastic, glass, rubber, and ceramics.

  • Different types of lasers

Different types of lasers are used for different materials:
    • Fiber lasers: These lasers are often used for metal engraving because of their high power density.
    • CO2 lasers: These lasers are often used for wood, glass, rubber, plastics, and cardboard. They may require a marking spray or paste to absorb the laser energy.
    • Diode-pumped lasers: These lasers use ultra-short pulses to create sharper marks.
